On September 1st, 2018 the Archdiocese of Mumbai through Cardinal Oswald Gracias launched what is called a Green Diocese. Very noble thoughts on his part. Everything is to be conserved so that global warming and its effects are reduced.
My question is while he exhorts the laity to work towards a Green Diocese what is the Cardinal himself doing is he leading by example?
Will Cardinal Gracias publicly declare that when he dies he will be buried in a shroud? The answer is NO.I have asked this question to him a number of times on various fora but he has never replied.
One should lead by example. A number of lay people are today being buried in shrouds not out of compulsion but voluntarily.
If Cardinal Oswald Gracias publicly claims he is willing to be buried in a shroud all other religious will also follow.
Today green fields are turning barren and into deserts. Huge Archdioceses like Mumbai are getting hardly any vocations. Leaders should lead by example.
