We should stop being communal

I recently read a website which wanted to know how many persons were there from a particular region/community for the meeting at Archbishops house on 29th May 2015?

Another person from the same community replied that there were people from the AOCC, Teachers, MCY, Cross and from that community and lastly he stated all were catholics. What a wonderful answer.

We at AOCC do not differentiate on the basis of which region we come from.

Let me inform you that one of the persons who negotiated was a person from Mumbai, besides others from all regions.

We want a job to be done.If you start fighting on the basis of regions/ states nothing will be achieved.

Just for your information the land donated in Thane was definitely not donated by a Goan, Manglorean or a person from Chennai. Yet these were the persons who moved court to save it. All of us are catholics. All will get the benefit.

One of the principal forces behind AOCC is Mr. Arthur D’Mello who is an Advocate.Arthur was the person who saved the Mahim cross after it was demolished and moved Bombay High Court. Arthur is one of our principal advisors and though he is is localite is never communal. Arthur is one of our cleanest catholic and knowledgeable  leaders .

If we have communal agendas we will never succeed. When we go to any authority we cannot go and tell them  that one community is to be discriminated against another community.

For your information a number of non goan catholics are now doing business in Goa, Mangalore because the localites sold them their lands/flats.

All our agendas should be towards the benefit of catholics and then only we will succeed.

Tomorrow people will differentiate on the basis of countries. How many persons from Bombay have gone to Canada , America,Australia? What will happen if they too start thinking on the same terms.

We got to take up issues which benefits all the catholics and then we will see who is not giving us an appointment, but if we have an agenda which our catholic religion does not stand for then in my opinion if will be difficult for negotiations to take place.

If any person wants to differentiate on the basis of regions/states then he will have to change the words of “I Believe”  in one holy catholic church to many holy catholic churches.

About The Voice Of Bombay's Catholic Laity

Bombay Laity Ezekiel’s Chapter 3 Task as Watchman 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 18 When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for[b] their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 19 But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.

Its true,We are Catholics and Our Belief should be One,Catholic and Apostolic.Being United with Christ is above all. Are we not brothers and sisters in Christ ? God Bless Arthur ,May his tribe increase. We are all one in Jesus.

  2. I fully agree and support. We catholics are a fragmented community and that is why advantage is taken. Every community has their own sub castes. Its high time we realise this and hold hands to strengthen our catholic community both internal with the church administration as well as externally.
See other minority communities. They will hold hands at the drop of a hat.
Lets forget the old caste and sub caste system and get to understand we are catholics and believe in one God Jesus Christ and one Church.

The East Indian community need to realize who are the crooks in their community who stoop for fame and popularity. East Indian land is being sold to non Catholics. The finance committee in the Archdiocese of Mumbai needs to be abolished and if any of their existing members are part of any other committee of the Church, they must be removed.
