St.Michaels Church ,Mahim has a face book account. One Mr Pierre put up an article which appeared in the Hindustan Times regarding the refusal of communion to a person who knelt to receive it.
- One Clifton Lobo put up his comments. On checking who he was as per his facebook account it has a photograph of Fr.Clifton Lobo who is presently an assistant at St.Micheals Church. Fr.Clifton Lobo gives excellent sermons about his travels to Africa , about his administrative abilities as principal in various Mumbai schools and as panel member to interview candidates of Air India .
Fr.Clifton Lobo has put up his comments on the face book account of St.Michaels Church in response to the Hindustan Times article. His comments are as follows.
Clifton Lobo Every year Novena time some people try to embarass the church of Mumbai!!!!if not handbill, then posters or something the paper. I wish they will be a little more creative next year. His first statementdetails and facts to be checked out.He implies that it is an incorrect article. The said act of refusal of communion to a person who knelt down was witnessed by hundreds of front benchers and the usher Mr.Tim held the hand of Mr.Dominic Fernandes and pulled him when he argued with the Priest for not giving holy communion to the person who knelt down.Fr.Clifton Lobo was also one of the priests who made repeated announcements in the year 2011 that communion would not be given to any person who kneels. Will Fr. Clifton Lobo make a public statement on the facebook account that he will give communion to any person who kneels ? Pope Benedict XVI only used to give communion to those persons who knelt down and took it on their tongues.Fr.Clifton is highly educated I dont think that I will have to make him aware that refusal of communion to any person who kneels is a grave liturgical abuse as per canon law.His second statement which he has made isEvery year Novena time some people try to embarass the church of Mumbai!!!!if not handbill, then posters or something the paper. I wish they will be a little more creative next year. Will Fr.Clifton Lobo state what was contained in the handbill and which of the statements there in are incorrect? Then he talks about the posters and then the newspapers. Can you remind us what was contained in the posters and what was wrong about it?Is Fr.Clifton Lobo implying that the newspaper articles are incorrect?Fr.Clifton you are a good preacher a highly educated person, a well travelled person and recruiter. Are you willing to openly state in what way the church got embarrassed? Are you willing to have an open debate with the residents of Marinagar towers who have not been given conveyance of the land for the last nine years? How come FSI in marinagar was sold for Rs.2000/-a sq. foot in the year 2008?How come permission to build on gardens was given? How come All Souls Day was changed from 2nd November to 3rd November because it happened to fall on a Wednesday.Fr. when you recite the novena so clearly , one of the prayers which you make along with the congregation is ” That I may often and devoutly receive the Sacraments and fulfil my christian duties and the duties of my state .”Have you made an announcement that communion which is one of the sacraments will not be given to any one who kneels? Or is it that if someone kneels to receive communion will not be receiving it devoutly? Are’nt you not part of the Parish Fathers team who has taken a decision not to give the two Marinagar Societies conveyance? One of the duties of our state is to implement state laws.As per the Maharashtra Ownership Flats Act 1963 conveyance is to be given to Societies within 4 months of societys formation. The two catholic societies have been registered in the years 1998 and 2004.Conveyance is long overdue it has not been given.Do you really mean what you say when you recite the novena prayer and fulfil my christian duties and the duties of my state .” ?Fr. I am also reminded that there is something called the Sin of Complicity.MUMBAILAITY
